Judicial injustices

The country’s justice system is the refuge of the weak. This, however, does not give certain people the right to become a burden on the state coffers by exploiting the loopholes and the shortcomings of Greece’s judicial system for the personal benefit.

Reports of pending or unresolved cases regarding Greek public sector workers who have committed grave offenses are a provocation for the public at large.

Also, it is unacceptable that state workers on short-term contracts which have long expired continue to receive their paychecks for years on end until their appeals have finally been heard. The government has pledged to make a priority of addressing this unhappy state of affairs.

This is not about protecting the weakest members of society, but about exploiting a dysfunctional justice system in order to serve individual or vested interests.
