Actions matter, not the name
The country has paid a high price when it comes to the scions of major political families.
Greek society has come to realize, if not a little too late, that it should not allow itself to be wooed by the surnames of those who govern the country, but rather to evaluate and appreciate their politicians’ specific skills and qualifications.
This is not to say that we should go all the way to the other extreme of the spectrum, where every single young politician stemming from a family of politicians is reviled and de facto considered insufficient and corrupt.
It is a well-known fact that exercise of power reveals character and in today’s current crisis conditions Greek citizens should not find it that difficult to weigh up the qualities and abilities of their politicians and determine exactly how effective they may be.
So let us keep away from making any hasty decisions and let us judge each and every one’s capabilities through their own decisions and actions.
