Keeping chaos at bay
An increasing number of countries are in the grips of instability and violence. From Venezuela, once a paradigm for change, to Ukraine and Egypt, we are witnessing the rapid collapse of entire nations.
Greece, for its part, is going through a major economic crisis that has had a massive and devastating impact on a large part of the population. Yet the country has managed to survive without succumbing to chaos and division, and still retains a standard of living that many around the world would envy.
We should not take these positives lightly and forget that maintaining stability and the country’s place within the European Union are the biggest priorities, even if this means more sacrifices.
Greece outside the European Union would be like a feather in the wind, and this is something that needs to be well understood not just here, but also by the EU’s decision makers, especially when they consider putting more pressure on the country.
