The future is in your hands

On Sunday we will vote in a landmark and unique election. It is a landmark vote because what is at stake is whether Greece will be cut off from Europe’s core, whether certain necessary reforms will be safeguarded, whether the country will revert to an obsolete and counterproductive statism or a “democracy” in name only.

It is also unique because many will vote for an anti-systemic party with the certainty that if SYRIZA is elected it will do an about-face.

Think carefully before casting your vote, for neither Greece nor Europe is currently operating under normal conditions. A wrong vote, out of fanaticism or ignorance, could cut us off from Europe. Besides the anger and despair over the old political system, logic and the instinct of self-preservation must prevail. SYRIZA promises to throw the dice in its negotiations with our lenders and see how it goes. The messages coming from abroad are stern and clear. When inexperienced people throw the dice without a clear plan, this entails a major financial, political and national risk. This is not the time for gambling, but for voting responsibly.
