Give the green light
Foreign investment is a crucial component of economic recovery and Greece needs to start bringing it in fast. Instead, the government, like others before it, is scaring it off in a bid to save face.
The simple truth is that people need jobs and the privatizations and large-scale investments that have already been inked must go through. SYRIZA’s officials have a duty to explain to the people of this country that privatizations are key to generating jobs and improving infrastructure. Who exactly stands to lose from the privatization of Greece’s airports? Have the people not noticed the lamentable state of so many state-owned airports at major destinations around the country?
Let us be done with these fixations that take such a heavy toll on the nation. Let the government find the courage to do what’s right and risk the wrath of the extremists and fanatics who don’t want any investment, anywhere.
