There is no shortage of politicians, lobbyists and unionists from the center right who have backed the government, whether tacitly or explicitly. Naturally, when it was first elected, the government needed to be given some time and support in its tough negotiations that are set to determine the future of the country.
Now, however, the situation is becoming increasingly dangerous as Greece is being pushed to the edge. The government is pursuing policies in key areas that serve no one but an extreme minority. We have lost important allies in key decision-making centers.
The moment of truth has arrived.
The government received a mandate from the Greek people to hold serious negotiations with the country’s international creditors and it cannot risk Greece’s position at the heart of the European Union. No one from the center right or any of the other mainstream, democratic parties has the right to remain silent.
