GREECE-BULGARIA: London, 12 – Reuters reports that the government of Bulgaria has asked UN Secretary General Dag Hammerskold to make a representation to the Greek goverment aimed at restoring diplomatic relations. The report was relayed by Radio Sofia. The Bulgarian announcement to the UN Secretariat is as follows: «The government of the People’s Republic of Bulgaria wishes to restore normal good neighborly relations with the Kingdom of Greece and is convinced that the unsettled and pending issues between the two countries can be solved through joint bilateral talks. The Bulgarian government would like to suggest to its Greek counterpart that normal diplomatic relations be restored between the People’s Republic of Bulgaria and the Kingdom of Greece.» The Bulgarian government has also asked that Bulgaria be admitted as a member of the UN. UPGRADING RELATIONS WITH THE USSR: On Thursday (September 17), the new Russian ambassador to Greece, Mr Sergiev, is to arrive in Athens. LUCIANO TAGLIOLI: The singer Luciano Taglioli has kindly offered to give a performance to benefit the victims of the earthquake in the Ionian Islands. The concert is to take place on Tuesday evening (September 15) at the Dore Theater. Also to appear in the production are Sophia Vembo, Nikos Gounaris, Angelos Grimanis, Sasha Dario and others.
