MARKEZINIS: The coordination minister, Mr Spyros Markezinis, visited the prime minister, Field Marshal Alexandros Papagos, yesterday morning to brief him on the results of his trip to Italy. Before departing from Rome, Mr Markezinis met with the ministers, Messrs Panayiotis Kanellopoulos and K. Papayiannis, who were about to leave Rome for Paris, and with whom he discussed issues that are currently being debated at the NATO summit. URBAN RAIL: The public works minister, Mr Constantine Karamanlis, has sent a study carried out by his ministry’s roads and bridges department to the Athens Municipality regarding the layout of Patission and Kifissias avenues in connection with the extension of the urban rail line. The report condemns pre-war construction along the avenue and the bridges over the rail line as a «barbarity» and proposes their demolition and then the construction of a track within embankments, with bridges at road level. RELIGIOUS OBSERVANCE: The Soviet ambassador, Mr Sergeyev, has attended the service for the feast of St Spyridon in Piraeus.
