A bad day for democracy

The Greek Parliament is failing the nation. Thursday’s debate on the country’s third international bailout was disappointing and sad. The government made a mistake in tabling key amendments at the very last moment.

The quality of dialogue was extremely low. There was very little of substance on the content of the memorandum. The debate was for the most part hijacked by acrimonious exchanges and SYRIZA’s civil war.

It was a very bad day for Greek democracy.
