Dangerous polarization

The kind of divisive language often used by the current leftist-led coalition government is highly damaging to the country and Greek society as a whole.

It seems that, as of late, a number of efforts are being made in a systematic fashion so as to put across two different approaches with regard to the ongoing refugee and migrant issues, as if the country was divided into two sides.

Ultimately, anyone who does not agree with the current administration’s positions on the matter of the refugee crisis is deemed to be a supporter of the far-right.

This is the sort of situation which demands everyone’s utmost attention.

And the reason for that is because this kind of strong polarization tends to lead even the most sensible people to react in ways that are purely dictated by anger.

The current conditions are very tricky and demand cool-headedness on the part of politicians and other high-profile figures as well as each and every citizen.
