Inertia will lead to chaos
The Greek coalition government appears to have given up with regard to the issue of handling the refugees and migrants who remain stranded in the country.
The situation at Greece’s largest port, Piraeus, and the former international airport in the area of Elliniko, southern Athens, which both host large makeshift refugee and migrant camps, remains chaotic and dangerous.
The lack of professionalism and overall coordination means that the much publicized European funds available to Greece for the development of appropriate infrastructure probably will not be enough in the case of the Greek capital.
Meanwhile, the situation on Greek islands in the eastern Aegean remains difficult.
The current inertia that is being observed around the country is bound to lead to even more dangerous phenomena.
That is why it is imperative that swift decisions be taken and capable professionals take over the management of the situation.
