TRIPARTITE: A military treaty between Greece, Turkey and Yugoslavia was signed yesterday in Bled, Yugoslavia. It is known as the «political cooperation and mutual assistance» pact. ATTEMPT AGAINST FRIEND: Shortly after midday yesterday off Eden Beach in Palaio Faliron, a 17-year-old youth with a bad reputation tried to drown his 21-year-old friend, a worker in the Athens central market, and to rob him. The two youths had rented a boat belonging to Dimitris Tzitzis, and went far offshore without the boat’s owner. The victim, who was naked and sitting on the edge of the boat, was pushed overboard by his friend, who knew he could not swim. (…) The perpetrator told police he had no intention of either robbing or killing his friend, but that he had simply pushed him into the sea and taken away his clothes in order to humiliate him in front of his friends because of the rumors that were circulating about his morals. HISTORIC AND ETHNOLOGICAL MUSEUM: Work has begun to renovate the interior of the Old Parliament building which is to house the Historic and Ethnological Museum.
