KKE ON FLORAKIS ARREST: The Central Committee of the Communist Party of Greece (KKE), in an announcement broadcast yesterday on the bandits’ radio station, launched vulgar insults against the government of Field Marshal Alexandros Papagos for the discovery and arrest of the communist espionage network: «(…) In order to back up the charges of conspiracy and espionage against the KKE, the field marshal must first of all prove that the KKE’s policy, which the party is clear and open about, is treasonous,» it said. Furthermore, the Communists said: «All the KKE cadres and people’s fighters who were caught, Dallas, Liolios and the rest, are known to the entire nation (…) and no hint of treason can soil them (…).» It went on to say that «this was the reason the government staged the pseudo-execution of the agent provocateur Ploumbidis.» FULBRIGHT FOUNDATION: During yesterday’s first day of courses for American teachers, Fulbright Foundation scholars, the speakers were the education minister and US Ambassador Cavendish Cannon. OLYMPIAKOS: According to a telegram from Livorno, Italy, the Olympiakos soccer team drew 1-1 with the host team.
