OPINION

Gratitude

I wish to add a personal thanks to the many congratulatory messages you received on the perfect organization of the Olympic Games. I had the bad fortune to be admitted to Evangelismos Hospital on August 22 with a serious lung embolism. I was working for the IOC and ATHOC at the time. The care I received from Drs Roussos and Politis and their excellent staff of young physicians not only saved my life but can be judged excellent by all international medical standards. The kindness of the nursing staff on the intensive-care floor only added to my sentiment of being in the best of a very bad situation. My gratitude and that of my family are boundless. Athens is definitely in this century when it comes to modern medical care. BILL WEBER, President, Language Services International, Inc. Lahaina, Hawaii.
