PAPAGOS’S ILLNESS: Athens radio broadcast the following comment from an official source: «A newspaper, which sees its job as opposing the government with daily lies and slander, has published a new unfounded myth due to the departure of Prime Minister Field Marshal Alexandros Papagos for Switzerland on private business and for a short rest of about 10 days. The newspaper in question maliciously gives its own views regarding the health of the prime minister, implying disagreements within the cabinet, problems of succession in the government and various other claims. All of the above are nothing but scurrilous lies. Field Marshal Papagos is in excellent health. There is complete accord within the government and no question of any of its members being replaced, succeeded or even being deputized temporarily. DEPUTY: During the absence of Prime Minister Field Marshal Alexandros Papapos, Deputy Prime Minister Panayiotis Kanellopoulos will be acting in his place. GREECE – AUSTRALIA: Australian Prime Minister Mr Robert Menzies arrived here yesterday from London as the official guest of the Greek government.
