CYPRIOT STRUGGLE: Nicosia, 13 – There was another attack by a group of armed Cypriot patriots against a British military patrol on a steep slope in the village of Lefka on Mt Troodos today. The patrol, consisting of two jeeps, was heading out of Lefka toward the village of Pedoulas when it came under sudden attack. One of the two vehicles struck a land mine and exploded, while the patriots attacked the other jeep with light weapons. As a result of the attack, one British soldier was killed and an unknown number were injured. So far, the number of British killed this year in Cyprus has risen to 77. SIXTH FLEET: The American Information Service has announced that an amphibious battalion belonging to the Sixth Fleet will visit three Greek ports during the last two weeks of April and the first week of May. GEORGES GUETARY: The film version of Johann Strauss’s operetta «Barone Tzigane,» featuring the French-Greek singing star Georges Guetary in the role of Barinkay, will be screened this Monday at the Pallas Theater. Guetary’s co-star is Marguerite Saad.
