ALL EYES ON EEC: Government Cabinet meetings over the past two weeks have focused on the economy and the need to speed up the rate of production in the industrial and agricultural sectors in view of joining the European Economic Community which has begun with the signing of an agreement [the Treaty of Rome on March 25, 1957] on a common market… The economic committee believes that conditions are suitable for developing Greek production by the use of part of the increasing deposits in banks and the Postal Savings Bank and by creating a Greek capital market through industrial bonds and interest-bearing bonds… ‘BOY ON A DOLPHIN’: One of the most glamorous events of the coming week will be the world premiere of Jean Negulesco’s film «Boy on a Dolphin» which is to take place simultaneously on Thursday in Athens at the Rex cinema and in New York at the Roxy. At the Athenian premiere, to be attended by the king and queen of Greece, many members of the government and diplomatic corps are expected to be present. Almost all the approximately 800 tickets available for the screening have already been sold.
