MAO AND USSR: Berlin – According to a report by the Mayor of East Berlin, Friedrich Ebert, to the Central Committee of the East German Communist Party, there was fierce debate in Moscow at a recent meeting of Communist Party delegates over the rule of the Soviet Union within the Communist bloc. SARAFIS: A political commemoration of the late leftist leader Stefanos Sarafis due to be held today at the Kentrikon Theater has been postponed because of the flu epidemic. ‘ORTHODOX THOUGHT:’ Professors Angelos Antoniadis (Archimandrite), Amilkas Alivizatos, Vasileios Vellas, Leonidas Philippidis, Constantinos Bonis and Gerasimos Konidaris of Athens University’s School of Theology have decided to issue a bimonthly magazine titled «Orthodox Thought.» AUGUSTO GENINA: Rome – The death was announced today of Augusto Genina, one of the greatest film directors, at the age of 65. Genina became famous in international cinema about 30 years ago with films such as «Cyrano de Bergerac,» «Il Corsaro» and «The Siege of the Alcazar.» He was born in Rome in 1892.
