THE LEFTIST RIGHT: One or two deputies of the Rally party were once involved in the National Liberation Front (EAM) and, as soon as they realized what it actually was, left it, as is well known, and embarked on anti-communist struggle. It is these deputies whom the pro-government press now refers to in order to criticize the opposition though it does not mention the two thirds of (Prime Minister Nikolaos) Plastiras’s deputies who were prominent members of EAM up to the end and who even now are flirting with the Communist Party of Greece (KKE). Or should we characterize as national heroes all those who remained faithful to EAM’s ideology, and as traitors all those who left it so as not to serve the plans of (communist leader Nikos) Zachariadis? FOREIGN BUTCHERS: As part of the clemency measures granted to all those who committed crimes against Greece, German and Italian war criminals who were active in Greece have been released. Is the Plastiras government leaving the punishment of these butchers to the good offices of the German and Italian governments? OLD CALENDRISTS: The Panhellenic National Religious Orthodox Community is protesting against what they call the «illiberal and barbaric» measures against Old Calendrists (who follow the Julian calendar) and is appealing to the king to intervene against the persecution of the members of their flock.
