GEORGAKOPOULOS PLATFORM: The caretaker government led by Constantine Georgakopoulos presented its platform to Parliament yesterday. His statements were almost as brief as the response of the leader of the National Radical Union (ERE), Constantine Karamanlis. The prime minister said the government’s mission was to pass an electoral law and to hold elections. Meanwhile, and until a new government is elected, the caretaker govenment would ensure the smooth running of the state, he added. CONFIDENCE IN KARAMANLIS: The ERE deputies met yesterday to hear their party leader present his report on the events that led to his government’s crisis. He also explained the reasons for expelling dissident ERE deputies. Karamanlis then set out his party’s views on the electoral bill and asked all the deputies to vote for it. He also expressed his absolute conviction that his party had emerged from the crisis morally and politically stronger. The next elections will show that ERE has established itself in the minds of the people as the safest guarantee for the nation. The ERE session voted to approve its leader’s tactics and declared its confidence in Karamanlis.
