EDA ACCUSES: A delegation from the administrative committee of the United Democratic Left (EDA) visited the Supreme Court prosecutor today and presented him with a document referring to various excesses against their supporters committed, as they claim, by state officials and which prevent their party from functioning smoothly. EDA also charged that during raids on the party’s offices in Peristeri, Tavros, Kallithea, Nea Smyrni, Dafni and Zografou, police arrested those present and ordered the offices closed after carrying out an illegal search, seizing documents and publications. BLOODSHED IN CYPRUS: Nicosia, 7 – The British security forces discovered a hideout yesterday belonging to the National Cypriot Fighters’ Organization (EOKA) where they found a cache of weapons, ammunition and explosives. The hideout was found near the village of Karavas in the northern part of the island.
