BERLIN PROBLEM: London, 17 – Berlin continues to be the focus of heightened concern by the countries in the West. This is clear from the point of view of the USA, which has been maintaining close contact with the West German government in Bonn. US Defense Secretary Wilber M. Brucker is presently in Berlin with the sister of ailing former Secretary of State John Foster Dulles – Eleanor Dulles – who has been made a special adviser to the US State Department on German issues. The former secretary of state, although recently having resigned due to his ill health, still appears to be pulling the strings in US foreign policy. «My brother,» said Eleanor Dulles, «told me to come to Berlin because he believes that the German problem is so important.» AMERICAN RADIO: The US Information Service has announced that a small radio station will begin transmitting on Sunday in the Athens area for the US Air Force personnel stationed here. A similar station has been operating for the past two years from Iraklion, Crete. TIBET: London, 11 – According to New Delhi, the Dalai Lama’s meeting with an envoy of Indian Prime Minister Jawaharlal Nehru has been interpreted as an assurance that he will avoid condemning Communist China over the violence it is using against Tibetan rebels.
