Olympiakos, PAOK advance to league semis

Olympiakos and PAOK secured their passage to the league semifinals on May 4, but Aris regained the home advantage over Maroussi to force a third game in the quarterfinal series.

Olympiakos dismissed Kolossos 83-67 on Rhodes to qualify for the semis with a 2-0 score.

This was Kolossos coach Yiannis Sferopoulos?s last game with the Rhodes club as he announced he is about to move on after three successful seasons.

PAOK also swept Kavala with a 2-0 score in the best-of-three series after narrowly defeating its Macedonian rival 64-62 away in coach Soulis Markopoulos’s 100th game on the PAOK bench. PAOK will now face Panathinaikos in the semis.

Aris overcame the shock of its home loss to Maroussi four days earlier and regained the home advantage in the series as Game 3 will take place at Thessaloniki on May 7.

The Yellows defeated Maroussi 62-51 away on May 4 to level the series at 1-1 thanks to an impressive performance by two of its Greek players, Costas Charalambidis (16 points) and Christos Tapoutos (11 points).

The winner of the series will face Olympiakos.
