Papastathopoulos returns to Genoa
Greece central defender Sokratis Papastathopoulos will continue his Campionato career at Genoa, according to reports on May 25.
The AC Milan central defender had a mediocre season after his transfer from Genoa in the summer and is now returning to his former club.
His move to the Rossoneri last summer is considered to have been among the 10 worst transfers of the Italian league for the season. He only played in five games for the Italian champion.
Earlier reports had linked Papastathopoulos with Olympiakos.
Meanwhile, Scottish press reports suggested on May 25 that Russian league leader Lokomotiv Moscow is interested in signing Greece striker Giorgos Samaras, currently at Celtic.
Celtic renewed Samaras’s contract for another three years in March.
