Kolossos clinches third spot in regular season
With Panathinaikos and Olympiakos having their games postponed against Panionios and Kavala respectively due to their Euroleague commitments, the rest of the Basket League games for the 25th round produced little excitement on Saturday.
The happiest of the teams involved must have been Kolossos, as the Rhodes side has now clinched the third spot in the regular season thanks to its victory over Peristeri and AGO Rethymnou?s loss to Aris.
Kolossos thrashed Peristeri 83-53 and will be in pole position for Greece’s third spot in the Euroleague next season.
Fourth-placed Rethymno in turn suffered at the hands of Aris, going down 78-60 in Thessaloniki.
PAOK concluded its games in the regular season with an 82-64 loss at Ikaros Kallitheas and is now sweating over its entry in the playoffs, as KAO Dramas is hot on its heels.
The Drama team dismissed relegated Maroussi 96-58 at home and will reach the playoffs if it upsets AGO Rethymnou next weekend, in the last round of games.
