Olympiakos clinches another league title

Olympiakos won its second consecutive soccer league title after beating Panetolikos 1-0 away on Sunday night to retain its 10-point lead at the top of the Super League table with three games left to play.

The Reds overcame the strong resistance of the hosts at Agrinio thanks to a strike by the league?s top scorer, Kevin Mirallas, who notched up his 19th goal of the season in the 54th minute. It is the 39th league title in Olympiakos?s history, a Greek record.

Panathinaikos, in second, beat visiting Aris behind closed doors at Athens?s Olympic Stadium despite playing for more than 30 minutes with 10 men after Nikos Spyropoulos was shown the red card. Gergely Rudolf scored his first Panathinaikos goal eight minutes from time.

Atromitos gave away a 2-0 lead at Iraklio to draw 2-2 with Ergotelis, which ended the game with nine men.

AEK joined PAOK in fourth after the Thessaloniki team suffered a shock 2-1 loss at home to PAS Giannina and AEK conceded an equalizer in the 95th minute on Corfu as Kerkyra equalized 2-2 via Thanassis Tsingas.

OFI is now safe from relegation after snatching a 2-2 draw at Asteras Tripolis, consolidating itself in the eighth spot. Asteras joined Aris in sixth.

Doxa Dramas is mathematically relegated after going down 1-0 at Xanthi, while Panionios beat Levadiakos 2-0 at home.
