Atromitos downs PAOK through late goal
Atromitos joined Olympiakos, Panionios and Asteras Tripolis at the top of the Super League on Monday after defeating visiting PAOK 1-0 at Peristeri.
The host was clearly a better team throughout the game, but had to wait until the 79th minute to turn their supremacy into goals.
Eventually it was two of the Atromitos defenders who combined for the home team to score, with Sokratis Fytanidis feeding Yiannis Lazaridis and he beat PAOK’s keeper for the game’s only goal.
Atromitos also struck the oodwork twice, once in each half.
Atromitos now has six points from two games, while PAOK is left with three points.
