Emphatic win for PAO hoopsters in Slovenia

Panathinaikos scored an emphatic away win against Olimpija Ljubljana in Slovenia on Friday, as the final 85-67 score testifies.

The Greens shook off their league derby loss to Olympiakos on Monday to produce an imposing all-around performance that had the game settled from as early as the start of the last period.

Scoring 50 points in the first half (50-38 at half-time), the Greeks were on a great night in attack and got points from almost all their players to take the game beyond Olimpija.

That meant that coach Argyris Pedoulakis had the opportunity to give mainstays such as Dimitris Diamantidis and Sofoklis Schortsanitis some rest.

Jonas Maciulis was the top scorer for Panathinaikos on the night with 18 points, while Stephane Lasme was even more impressive with 13 points from five out of five two-pointers, as well as eight rebounds, five blocks, two assists and one steal.

This win takes Panathinaikos to the top of its group with two wins in three games, level on points with Real Madrid and Fenerbahce, its next opponent on November 1 in Turkey.
