PAOK and Olympiakos retain perfect record
PAOK retained its one-point lead at the top of the OPAP Basket League after edging out visiting Apollon Patras 78-74 in Thessaloniki on Sunday to retain its perfect record after four games.
Olympiakos also has four out of four, after thrashing bottom club Kolossos 94-61 on Rhodes on Sunday, but lies seventh due to starting the league with minus two points.
Panathinaikos rose to second beating hapless KAO Dramas 93-72 at the Olympic Sports Hall on Tuesday in the game where the host’s captain Dimitris Diamantidis exceeded 1700 assists in his career in the league.
Ilisiakos scored its first win of the season, beating fellow struggler Trikala BC 69-59 at home, to come out of the drop zone.
In the other relegation dogfight Panelefsiniakos dealt a blow to Ikaros’s chances of survival beating it 84-74 at Halkida, while promoted Nea Kifissia could not even score 40 points at Nea Smyrni, as Panionios won 64-39 on Saturday.
AGO Rethymnou had Justin Hurtt to thank its 84-77 win over Aris in Crete as the American scored 23 points.
