Red hoopsters dominate Unicaja Malaga

Olympiakos produced a second emphatic victory over Spanish opposition on Thursday, after that at Laboral Kutxa last week, defeating visiting Unicaja Malaga 73-55 for its third win in five games at the top-16 stage of the Euroleague.

Despite the bad night captain Vassilis Spanoulis had, with just two points from one in 12 field goals, the Reds overcame the resistance of the Spaniards after a great show by Giorgos Printezis and Bryant Dunston.

The 55-41 score after the first 30 minutes was too much for Malaga to handle and the visitors surrendered to a superior Olympiakos that has finally given its fans at home something to savor after a long time.

Printezis scored 16 points and Dunston another 12. The American had with 5/5 two-pointers and 2/2 free throws, plus six rebounds and two blocks.

In the Eurocup Panionios is mathematically eliminated after its fourth loss in as many group games, this time at home to Red Star Belgrade (78-66) on Wednesday.
