Panathinaikos and PAOK retain perfect record

The third round of games in the Basket League over the weekend saw PAOK overcome the strong resistance of host KAOD at Drama, and Panathinaikos and Olympiakos inflict heavy losses on AEK and Kolossos Rhodes respectively.

With the outcome of its abandoned game at Aris still undecided, PAOK made it two out of two in the league with a 68-64 triumph at Drama in a game decided in the last minute.

Lefteris Bochoridis had an amazing 13 assists and three out of three three-pointers to lead Panathinaikos to a 92-58 thrashing of AEK at home on Sunday, that forced the visitors to apologize to their fans on Monday for the team’s performance.

Olympiakos scored its second win in three matches as a late rally allowed it to stretch its advantage over Kolossos to 28 points in the end, winning by 93-65.

In another exciting game AGO Rethymnou defeated host Korivos Amaliadas, while ambitious Nea Kiffisia followed up its win over Olympiakos with a 79-68 victory at Panelefsiniakos.

In other Saturday games, Aris downed Apollon Patras 69-64 in Thessaloniki and Trikala saw off an experimental Panionios side 98-60 at Nea Smyrni.
