Changes at Athens 2004
Athens 2004 Olympics chief Gianna Angelopoulos-Daskalaki reshuffled responsibilities among her five executive directors yesterday, creating a central financial control unit but avoiding any bloodletting less than a year before the Games begin. Angelopoulos-Daskalaki, who essentially split up the Games operations and finances, said the final lead-up to the Games demanded a change in company structure for more flexibility. After the changes, all company communication and press operations are tightly in her grip. Athens 2004 Managing Director Ioannis Spanoudakis will now head the company fund which will be a «central financial and contracts management unit.» (Reuters)
