Panathinaikos goalkeeper Antonis Nikopolidis was placed 13th among the best keepers in the world for 2003 by the International Federation of Football Statistics and History, an organization based in Germany. Nikopolidis helped Greece qualify for Euro 2004 by keeping a clean sheet in six straight matches. Goalkeeper of the Year was Juventus’s Gianluigi Buffon. The same organization placed Greece’s national team coach Otto Rehhagel of Germany in 12th place among the world’s coaches.
