Greek boxer Ilias Pavlidis (l), on his way to gold against Kazakhstan’s Beibut Shumenov in the Olympic boxing test event’s 81-kilo final in Athens late Sunday. Spyros Ioannidis won the Greek team’s other medal, a silver, in the 64-kilo category, after losing to Cuban Yudel Johnson. As expected, the Cubans, a traditional boxing power, dominated the event with an 8-2-1 medal tally.
