Iraklis’s Clay Stanley (left) and team captain Andrej Kravarik give each other a high-five during yesterday’s second match, at home, against Olympiakos in the best-of-five final series for the Greek volleyball title. Iraklis, undefeated in domestic competition this season, beat Olympiakos 3-2 (18-25, 25-22, 17-25, 25-20, 17-15) in an exciting match for a 2-0 lead in the series. Now just a step away from clinching the Greek title, Iraklis, which deprived Olympiakos of the Greek Cup early last month, greets its rival in Game 3 of the series this Sunday. The Thessaloniki side had also reached the final of this year’s European Champions League but went down to France’s Tours.
