Giourkas moves from Moscow to Madrid

Greece defender Giourkas Seitaridis made his third club change in as many years yesterday by moving to Atletico Madrid from Dynamo Moscow. Seitaridis had joined the Russian club last summer in a deal worth nearly 10 million euros, but his form was subdued, mostly due to injury. The stylish right back had first moved abroad from Panathinaikos to Porto in a deal announced just after Greece’s triumph at Euro 2004, where he impressed. Atletico Madrid, which ended 10th in Spain’s 20-team top division last season, had signed another Greek player, Demis Nikolaidis, for the 2003-2004 season, the striker’s last in his career, before he became boss at AEK, his former club.
