No surprises on basketball team
The Greek Basketball Federation (EOK) is expected to announce a 17-member squad today for the World Cup in Japan later this summer with five new faces following last year’s European triumph in Belgrade. The new additions, none of whom are considered to be surprise selections, are: Manolis Papamakarios, Loukas Mavrokefalidis, Sophocles Schortsianitis, Costas Vassiliadis and Michalis Pelekanos. The top six teams at the European championships all qualified automatically for the upcoming World Cup.
