Champion breezes through to semis
Panathinaikos advanced to the Greek basketball cup’s semifinals with a comfortable 84-55 win yesterday over Olympia Larissa. Panathinaikos, the defending champion, will meet the winner of today’s quarterfinal between AEK and Maroussi in a home-and-away encounter scheduled for December. The competition’s other two-leg semifinal will be contested by two surprise qualifiers, AGO Rethymnon and Rhodes club Kolossos, both from the A2 league, which assures a finalist from the lower-league competition in this season’s cup final.
