Curtain raised for Euroleague season

The new season for Europe’s premier club-level basketball competition, the Euroleague, was launched late last night in Spain with a game between Badalona and Athens club Panathinaikos, a three-time European champion. The two teams were drawn in Group B, one of three eight-team groups set up for the competition. Olympiakos, competing in Group A, hosts TAU Ceramica tonight. Aris, in Group C, hosts Ulker, also tonight.
