Euroleague victories for local clubs

Three-time European basketball champion Panathinaikos continued its winning run in the first stage of Euroleague play last night with an 87-71 home victory over Lottomatica Roma in a Group B game. The Athens club has now registered four wins from as many games to lead its group. Also playing last night, Thessaloniki club Aris staged a major comeback to snatch victory at home against PAU-Orthez in a Group C game. Aris, a 74-72 winner last night, now has two wins and two losses. Also with a perfect record, from three games, Olympiakos, Greece’s other representative in European basketball’s premier club-level competition, is due to face Le Mans tonight, away, in a Group A game.
