Thessaloniki to use wheel clamps
The Municipality of Thessaloniki is set to deploy wheel clamps in its bid to fight illegal parking.
It emerged on Tuesday that the local authority has ordered 20 clamps, which will be attached to the wheels of cars that park illegally.
Drivers will be forced to call the municipality and pay a fine to have the clamp removed.
Thessaloniki has a notorious parking problem.
The municipality issued more than 100,000 parking tickets last year and has already issued 62,000 this year.
