Kapsis to quit government in March after public broadcaster is up and running

Deputy Culture Minister Pantelis Kapsis, who is responsible for the creation of a new public broadcaster, says he intends to resign in March after completing this task.

Kapsis was appointed after the closure of the previous service, ERT, to set up an interim broadcaster, known as Public Television, and to create a new, slimmed down, successor to ERT.

Kapsis told To Vima that the new service will begin broadcasts in March, leading to his exit from the government.

“There is no reason for me to stay on,” he said.
