Golden Dawn MP released from custody with terms

Golden Dawn deputy Michalis Arvanitis was released from custody on Friday after facing the two magistrates investigating the party for alleged criminal activities.

The 72-year-old lawmaker for the ultranationalist party was ordered not to leave the country and banned from participating in party events outside Parliament.

According to sources, the suspect, charged with membership of a criminal organization, invoked his right to silence and refused to answer any of the questions posed by magistrates Ioanna Klapa and Maria Dimitropoulou.

On Thursday, the wife of Golden Dawn leader Nikos Michaloliakos, Eleni Zaroulia, an MP, was given an extension until Tuesday to prepare her deposition.
