A months-long police operation has led to the arrest of a 47-year-old man suspected of two murders, two attempted murders and a number of armed robberies, among other crimes, police said on Friday.
The unnamed man is accused of being part of a violent gang responsible for the December 2013 shooting and killing of a 41-year-old man in Aspropyrgos, western Attica, whose home they had robbed.
Forensic evidence found at the scene of the shooting has tied the suspect to another robbery-homicide, that of a 63-year-old man in Alexandroupoli, northern Greece, who was found shot dead in his car not far from his home in April.
Another man, aged 43, has already been arrested for the Alexandroupoli murder.
The police report added that the 47-year-old confessed to his role in both homicides after questioning.
