Gustav Mahler Jugendorchester | Athens | April 3-4
The Gustav Mahler Jugendorchester, led by David Afkham, will perform at the Athens Concert Hall on Sunday, April 3, and Monday, April 4. The ensemble, which will perform works by Henri Dutilleux, Bela Bartok and Ludvig van Beethoven, will be in Athens as part of its Easter Tour 2016, which is dedicated to Pierre Boulez (photo), the boundary-pushing modernist composer who died in January. Also taking part in the concerts is violinist Frank Peter Zimmermann. Admission ranges from 16 to 60 euros. Performances start at 8.30 p.m.
