Five charged in fortune teller scam
Criminal charges were in the cards for five women in Athens accused of attempting to defraud their victims under the guise of telling their fortune.
The suspects, aged 59, 44, 42, 40 and 35-years-old, have been charged with running a criminal gang and scheme to defraud.
According to the police, one of the suspects had managed to extract 52,500 euros from one of her clients, claiming that she was able to prevent problems that she foresaw in the victim's future.
Police said the suspects had managed to defraud another victim of 20,000 euros in January.
The five were expected to face a prosecutor in Athens.
