Greeks bid farewell to Fidel Castro

Tributes from around the world poured in after the death of legendary Cuban leader Fidel Castro on Saturday.

Prime Minister Alexis Tsipras was among the many leaders who paid their respects to the Communist revolutionary, who died aged 90.

“Farewell comandante. Until the ultimate victory of the people,” he tweeted.

In a Facebook post, he said Castro’s legacy will be managed by those who remain behind in the “difficult conditions brought about by the failure of neo-liberalism.”

The leftist governing party, SYRIZA, tweeted that Castro was “vindicated by history.”
