Former Argentinean president Cristina Fernandez de Kirchner is due to begin a visit to Greece over the weekend.
Kirchner is due to stay in Athens, where she is scheduled to meet with government and SYRIZA officials, until Tuesday. On Monday evening, she will speak at the Athens Concert Hall about Latin America’s experience in addressing “crises in democracy and the struggle for social justice.”
Kirchner will then travel to Brussels for several days before flying to the UK to speak at Oxford University.
Kirchner, who according to reports will be accompanied by her daughter, had to be given permission by judges in Argentina to travel as she has been indicted on corruption charges in her homeland. She denies the allegations.
