Water supply being restored in Thessaloniki’s Oreokastro
Repair crews in the northern port city of Thessaloniki on Monday morning started to restore the water supply to the Oreokatsro district, north of the city center.
Residents in Oreokastro have been without water for nearly a day, after a pump of the Thessaloniki water company (EYATH) in Nea Ionia was knocked out by a fire on Sunday, possibly due to a short circuit.
The pump, according to EYATH, has been fixed and supply should start returning to the entire area over the course of the day, starting with parts at higher altitudes.
