Shepherd, 85, killed by train in Viotia

An 85-year-old shepherd and several of his herd of sheep were killed on Tuesday night after they were hit by an Intercity train near Aliartos station in Viotia, central Greece. According to reports, the incident occurred at around 9 p.m., roughly 1.5 kilometers from the station.

The train’s driver reportedly ran away, suffering from shock. Authorities Wednesday had yet to locate him. None of the 200 passengers on board the train were injured, but they remained stranded at the site of the accident for several hours.
